The FLIR AutoCal Lenses are optimised for particular purposes:
- 14°, 29mm lens: a telephoto lens with a narrow field-of-view facilitating precise focus and crisp imaging of distant targets
- 24°, 17mm lens: provides a 24° x 18° FOV allowing the user to remain at a safe distance from energised equipment whilst providing a crisp focus when viewing smaller targets
- 42°, 10mm lens: this wide-angle lens provides a large FOV allowing the user to gather maximum information in a single image; this is ideal when inspecting buildings and roofs
- 80°, 5mm Lens: delivers an ultra-wide field-of-view allowing inspectors to capture large targets and/or inspect in tight spaces
The FLIR AutoCal Lenses are interchangeable. To ensure the FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera will always provide high-quality thermal images and precise temperature measurements, it will auto-calibrate to accommodate the attached lens.
The FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera also features four selectable focus modes including:
- Continuous Laser Distance Meter (LDM)
- One-Shot LDM
- One-Shot Contrast
- Manual
FLIR FlexView DFOV Lens
FLIR’s FlexView Dual Field of View Lens allows you to survey sites and take precise temperature measurements without changing lenses. At the push of a button, you can switch from a wide-view 24° lens to a 14° telephoto lens. In addition to this, the FLIR FlexView DFOV Lens makes it possible to place 2.8x pixels on your target using optical zoom. The FLIR FlexView DFOV Lens saves you time and space. It lowers your risk of missing anomalies and allows you to perform efficient, accurate inspections.
Thermal Imaging
The FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera is able to measure temperatures to an accuracy of ±2°C/2%; it supports the following temperature ranges:
- -20°C to +120°C
- 0°C to +650°C
- 300°C to 1500°C
This thermal imaging camera has a sensitivity of 30mK (at 30°C with a 42° lens) and an IR resolution of 464x348px which provides 161 472 measurement points.
The UltraMax® Enhancement function can be used to increase the number of measurement points to 645 888. It captures a series of radiometric images which are combined, without compromising the radiometric data, using an UltraMax® algorithm and a suitable FLIR analysis software program. The UltraMax® Enhancement improves the FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera’s distance-to-spot ratio and is particularly useful when inspecting small or distant components.
The FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera also includes an MSX® Image Enhancement function which improves the depth and clarity of thermal images by overlaying digital details. Digital images are captured using the 5MP visual camera with a fixed focus and LED light. Increased image detail and sharpness makes it easier for the user to identify the source of faults.
The FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera also includes imaging tools such as a 1-4x continuous digital zoom, three spotmeters (in live mode), and three areas meters (in live mode). Furthermore, the user can begin building reports on the FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera as he/she can sketch onto thermal images via the 640x480px display, and can save footage or images with a GPS tag, voice annotations, and/or on-screen text. The user can save radiometric, IR and visual images and footage to the FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera’s 8GB SD card. Radiometric files are saved as JPEG files.
The FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera is also compatible with FLIR’s analysis and reporting software programs including FLIR Thermal Studio (included) and FLIR Thermal Studio Pro (NOT included).
In addition to this, the user can stream radiometric, IR and visual footage. The FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera includes a Wi-Fi interface, allowing the user to connect to a smartphone or tablet, as well as USB, Bluetooth and DisplayPort interfaces.
METERLiNK Compatibility
METERLiNK compatibility means the FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera can be connected to other FLIR tools such as clamps and multimeters. Data collected using these tools can be saved alongside thermal footage and images.
Ergonomic
Saved files can be recalled easily as a result of the FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera’s simple folder and naming structure. Also adding to the FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera’s simplicity of use is its intuitive user interface, practically placed menu buttons, and fast-responding touchscreen display. The FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera’s pistol-shaped design also means that it can be operated using a single hand.
Additionally, the FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera has been drop-tested from 3m (6.6ft) and has a typical battery life of over 2.5 hours.
Inspection Route Camera Function
The FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera includes FLIR’s exclusive Inspection Route Camera function which guides the user through a pre-planned inspection route ensuring that he/she gathers data and images at each specified inspection point. Collected information and media is automatically organised by the FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera. This function is ideal for thermographers who regularly inspect a lot of buildings and/or electrical and mechanical equipment as it improves inspection organisation and efficiency and simplifies reporting.
Inspection routes are designed using the Route Creator Plug-in for FLIR’s Thermal Studio Pro Software (NOT included). Thermographers can add in as many inspection points as necessary which may be arranged to provide maximum efficiency.
The FLIR E86 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera is a versatile, simple-to-use and ergonomic infrared-imaging camera suitable for troubleshooting and inspecting buildings and electrical and mechanical equipment.
